KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) has received a legal notice pertaining to the implementation of a recent Sindh High Court (SHC) orders with regard to the appointment of acting vice chancellor of the varsity.

The legal notice sent to the university registrar asked the administration to implement the Jan 26 court order under which the university was directed to send names of 10 senior most professors in accordance with the KU seniority list to the Sindh chief minister for appointment of the acting VC.

The case is being pursued by Prof Moonis Ahmer and Prof Mohammad Ahmed Qadri.

It said that if the court orders were not implemented within seven days of issuance of this letter, contempt of court proceedings would be initiated.

Sources said another legal notice had been sent to the provincial department of universities and boards.
