ISLAMABAD: The PTI government’s social protection programme Ehsaas, in collaboration with Pakistan’s Permanent Mission in New York, organised a daylong event at the Dubai Expo 2020 in Pakistan pavilion to muster support for its pro-poor initiative ‘Universal Declaration on Social Protection’.

Senator Sania Nishtar chaired the event, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division which conducted the ceremony.

Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to UN in New York also convened an information session with member states to garner support for the cause of social protection which Pakistan is leading.

This process started with the mission hosting an event on social protection during the UN high-level political forum in July last year. The event was co-hosted by Turkey, Nigeria and Costa Rica.
