RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) started its flights from Pakistan to Fujairah, one of the states of United Arab Emirates, on Monday.

The PIA will operate three flights a week to Fujairah with one flight each from Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar.

A spokesman for PIA said the first flight PK-243 with 296 passengers onboard took off from Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Monday morning.

The passengers of the first flight were seen off by PIA District Manager Lahore, Dr Abdul Muqaddam Khan and Station Manager, Ali Abbas Shah along with other officials of the airline.

PIA is the first airline to launch air service to Fujairah.

The passengers of the flight thanked CEO PIA, Air Marshal Arshad Malik and the airline’s Marketing team for initiating flights to Fujairah.

The national flag carrier will operate Boeing 777 aircraft for Fujairah flight operations, the spokesman said.
