SWABI: A constable was injured when a man opened fire on a police party in a high security zone of the Swabi district here on Friday.
Zaida police station SHO Akbar Ali told Dawn that the policemen were on duty at the Swabi Judicial Complex in Shahmansoor when a man holding a pistol opened fire on them. As a result, head constable Sultan Bahadar was injured. The accused managed to escape.
The injured constable was taken to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
An FIR has been registered against the attacker later identified as Zahoor Ahmad.
The police raided his house and other areas to arrest him, but to no avail.
