ISLAMABAD: A machine readable passport (MRP) facility has been established at the OPF head office here to facilitate overseas Pakistanis and their family members.

The centre has been set up by Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Islamabad in collaboration with the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports office.

“This is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and on the directions of Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. The government is according top priority to the overseas Pakistanis and is keen to provide them enhanced facilities with improved service delivery,” said a press release.

The new centre is one such initiative and testament to the citizen-centric governance model where overseas Pakistanis are exclusively facilitated.

With the establishment of the facility, the overseas Pakistanis will now be able to apply/renew their passports in addition to the existing facilities provided by OPF under one roof, which includes OPF membership card, foreign exchange remittance card, Nadra Swift Centre and complaint resolution system.

The MRP facilitation centre is now operational and overseas Pakistanis and their dependents can visit the facility for issuance/renewal of their machine readable passports.
