PESHAWAR: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army and Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) completed the quarter-finals line-up at the National Challenge Cup here at the Tehmas Khan Football Stadium on Sunday.

SSGC edged past Navy 2-1 in their final Group ‘B’ game with Zakir Lashari scoring a last-gasp winner to finish top of their section with four points, one ahead of their opponents. SSGC took the lead through Saadullah’s 37th-minute goal before Navu levelled when Farhman Ullah scored at the start of the second half.

Pakistan Television (PTV) ended third in the three-team group with a solitary point.

Army won Group ‘C’, ending on seven points after three matches following a 2-2 draw with PCAA who ended runners-up with five points. PCAA took the lead through Mohammad Waheed in the sixth minute but Mohammad Nasir levelled matters six minutes later. Nasir scored his second in the 51st to put Army in front but Waheed also completed a brace, scoring in the 63rd to secure a point for his side.

PFF Tigers ended third in the group with two points, one ahead of Pakistan Railways who finished on one.

In the quarter-finals, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will face Wapda, SSGC will clash with PCAA, Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) meet Pakistan Police and Army play Navy.
