SWABI: Tehsil nazim, Swabi, Wahid Shah sustained injuries in a clash with tehsil councillor Iqbal Zada over the issue of tenders on the premises of Swabi Judicial Complex (SJC), Shahmansoor, here on Saturday, sources said.

They said that the nazim was admitted to Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Shahmansoor, for treatment.

Mr Shah and Mr Zada, who are stated to be relatives, had strained relations for the last about one year when they clashed over allocation of development funds. It has been learnt that Mr Zada had filed a writ petition in a local court that he had already taken 39 tenders and Mr Shah wanted toissue the tenders of the same projects once again.

He adopted a plea that he had already worked on some projects and reissuing of the tenders would result in financial loss to him.

Talking to mediapersons, tehsil councillor Rashid Sohail claimed that Mr Shah was sitting in the office of advocate Mohammad Ishfaq when Mr Zada attacked him along with his supporters. The lawyers present on the occasion tried to separate them, but they could not protect the nazim.

An FIR has been registered in a local police station against Mr Zada on the complaint of nazim.
