SWABI: Police on Sunday recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition and arrested two smugglers in the jurisdiction of Yar Hussain police station here.

The DPO, following a tip-off that arms were being smuggled through a rickshaw in Sudher area, constituted a police party, which blocked the Sudher road at various points.

In the meantime a rickshaw appeared on the road, and on checking the police recovered six Kalashnikovs, four kalakovs, six pistols, 15 magazines and 1,500 cartridges from its secret cavities. The police also arrested two persons.

The Yar Hussain police circle DSP Pasham Gul Khan and SHO Haji Mohammad Khan told reporters that further investigation from the smugglers was underway.
