Sindh, Rangers, Navy and Police hog limelight

KARACHI: Four local pugilists two each of Sindh Greens and Whites, three apiece of Rangers, Navy and Sindh Police hogged limelight by making their way into quarter-finals of the all-Pakistan Amir Khan boxing tournament at the Ustad Abdullah Baloch Stadium, Peoples Sports Complex, on Tuesday.

In all, 27 bouts were decided in different weight categories on the second day of the event.

International Jahanzeb, who represented Sindh Greens delighted the local fans when he outpointed Railways Asadullah in 49kg. He was joined by Faizan Butt who knocked out Altaf Ali in first round of 56kg.

The two boxers who did Sindh Whites proud were Arsalan Ali (56kg) and Sheeraz Baloch (60 kg).

Those who emerged victorious for Rangers were Shaib Murad (49kg), Faqeer Mohammad (52kg) and Nadir Baloch (56kg).

International Dawood Khan, Asif Raza and international Asif Kachhi won their bouts for Navy while Shehroz Kacchi, Hamid Baloch and Shahryar Kachhi shone for the Sindh Police.
