KARACHI: Samaa TV beat Aaj TV by eight wickets in the final to clinch the second Inter-media Colourkit cricket tournament here at the Hanif Mohammad ground on Friday.

The event was held under the auspices of Sports Forum in collaboration with the National Bank of Pakistan.

Batting first, Aaj TV scored 47 runs in the allotted six overs for the loss of five wickets with Asif Altaf top-scoring with 20. Shoaib Jut grabbed two wickets. In reply, Samaa TV achieved the target for the loss of just two wickets with Hasan Askari scoring a fluent 21 not out.

Later, chief guest Nadeem Omar distributed prizes among the winners. He lauded Sports Forum and NBP’s effort to arrange the tournament for mediamen and said there is a lot of talent among the journalists and a large scale event for them should be held on a regular basis.

Sports Forum chairman Asif Azeem, speaking on the occasion, said that sports activities among the media organisations help create a good atmosphere and take some pressure off journalists from their tough jobs.
