KARACHI: Former skipper Mohammad Yousuf and ex-opener Sadiq Mohammad have praised the technique and courageous batting of wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed and has rated him as the most dangerous batsman for the opponents.

“Sarfraz has emerged as Pakistan’s gutsiest and most dangerous batsman for the opposition in recent games and he has shown great skills and consistency in all forms of cricket which is laudable,” said formed batsman Yousuf while commenting on a private television channel on Friday.

“He (Sarfraz) has proved his class and temperament and has to a great extent sorted out Pakistan’s batting problems,” he said.

Ace batsman Yousuf said it was encouraging to see Sarfraz batting aggressively in all circumstances because he got an attacking style in all brands of cricket and that will be very benefitting in ICC World Cup.

Australia in the recent Test series and also against New Zealand. On Thursday, he spearheaded Pakistan to an impressive victory over New Zealand in the first Twenty20 International at Dubai.

He said Sarfraz’s aggressive approach to the game has often rescued Pakistan in pressure situations and he has already become an asset for the national team.

Yousuf said Sarfraz is a naturally gifted player and the confidence given to him by the management is paying rich dividends.

Former Pakistan opener Sadiq Muhammad also lauded the heroics of Sarfraz and pointed out that that after the team’s grand success against Australia, Sarfraz’s confidence is touching new heights now. “Finally, Sarfraz is coming into his own and displaying excellent batting,” the former Test opener said.

“When sent in as opener, Sarfraz played his role admirably by finishing the match which is true class of a batsman,” said Sadiq. “Sarfraz’s consistency is setting a good trend for Pakistan team in preparation for next year’s World Cup which will be held in Australia and New Zealand.”
