PTI wins KP by-poll

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf candidate Ehtisham Javed Akbar won the by-election held for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly’s PK-68, Dera Ismail Khan-V, constituency on Monday.

According to unofficial results from all the 108 polling stations, Mr Akbar bagged 37,178 votes against 32,640 polled by Syed Murid Kazim Shah. Mr Shah contested the poll as an independent candidate but he enjoyed the backing of PPP, Awami National Party and JUI-Fazl.

The voter turnout was around 60 per cent. The constituency has 127,617 registered voters (69,003 men and 58,614 women) and 27 polling stations were set up for men and 27 for women. Fifty-four polling stations were such where both men and women were allowed to cast their votes.

In all, 13 candidates were in the run.

The seat had fallen vacant after Javed Akbar, who had won as an independent candidate, was disqualified by an election tribunal in a fake degree case. Mr Ehtisham, Javed Akbar’s son, contested the by-poll on a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf ticket.

Original worth of PTI in this constituency is 1600 votes, which they got in 2013 elections when Hymayun Khan of PTI conceded 1600 votes and father of now winner Akbar Khan won the seat as independent candidate, later disqualified on fake degree. Congratulations Naya Pakistan giving ticket to fake degree, and tell us if this MP will resign if you ask him to do so.

Nawaz should take a cue from this and resign, nation no longer has faith in his abilities to take nation forward , people are expecting a change in regime and are expecting big things from PTI which will be very difficult for it to deliver , much like in India from Modi and PTI can win big if elections are held now.

PTI conceded 1600 votes in 2013 when Humayun Khan of PTI defeated by fake degree holder Akbar Khan independent candidate, later disqualified and now son of fake degree holder got PTI ticket and won the seat (Congratulations Naya Pakistan-what is new in this, same old politics). Hope he will follow party policies and will tender his resign for the party when asked by Imran Khan :).

Some simple minded people think IK is after PM... nothing could be further from the truth! When he says change IS HERE, he means this. People of Pakistan have woken up and are waking up and they will not put up with corrupt and incompetent politicians of the status quo or what I like to call "status queue" where each one is waiting in a queue after the other for their "baari."

I am pro - PTI. However I have a concern here, why Imran gave seat to Javed Akbar Son who was proven guilty and was disqualified due to his fake degree. PTI shouldn't encourage traditional "family politics" culture what others have done in the past. PTI has to revisit their candidate screening policy.

What about NA-1 peshawar seat. IK vacated it and PTI lost it by a big margin. Shows the confidence of people in IK. In the next elections PTI will not have CM in KPK.

But Ik got a new lota for winning election.election. Ehtesham Javed son of ex-MPA Javed Akbar (an election tribunal disqualified independent MPA Javed Akbar over fake degree) So laundry is on. As MPA Javed Akbar wined 2013 elections as an independent candidate.

In bye election his Son, Mr Ehtasham Javed Akbar Khan won after getting the ticket from PTI. The point is: It was father who vacated the seat and the Son won it. I wonder where does come the popularity of PTI. Jo chahay ap ka husn-e-krishma saz karay.
