Fata senators call on Jamali

ISLAMABAD, June 8: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali has said the government is making efforts to bring the under- developed areas of the country on a par with the developed ones and improvement in the quality of life is being accorded a high priority.

The prime minister was talking to a four-member delegation of senators from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) led by Mohammad Ajmal Khan, who called on him here on Sunday and exchanged views on matters pertaining to the tribal areas.

The prime minister said improvement in health and education sectors along with physical infrastructure were being pursued as major goals of development.

In this connection, he also referred to the recent unprecedented Public Sector Development Programme allocation announced in the federal budget.

The senators thanked the prime minister for his government’s strong commitment to the uplift work and development of the tribal areas to fecilitate the local people.

The delegation included Senator Syed Sajjad Hussain, Senator Rashid Ahmad and Senator Tahir Iqbal.
