Fatehjang, Sept 30: The provincial energy minister Chaudhry Sher Ali Khan presided over a meeting with representatives of the Anjuman Tajiran (trade union) Fatehjang to discuss the removal of encroachments from various bazaars.

Members of the trade union expressed their grievances to the minister who then directed the assistant commissioner to remove all encroachments after consulting the traders.

On the occasion, former naib nazim Fatehjang, Malik Khalid, criticised the behavior of the tehsil municipal administrator and demanded his transfer.

Malik Shawaiz Khan, member provincial assembly (MPA) from PP-17, was also present in the meeting.

While taking to the media, Mr Khan said the Punjab government had issued a notification for the construction of a sports complex and stadium in Hassanabdal and Fatehjang.

He said committee members for the construction work on projects had already been nominated and it was their duties to check the quality of work.

He added that no engineer or officer would demand any commission from contractors in the future and these projects would become model projects. — Correspondent
