KARACHI, Feb 20: An Inter-regional football tournament was organised by Beaconhouse School Systems at the PSB Coaching Centre here on Wednesday.

Teams from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi represented Northern, Central and Southern regions respectively comprising O’ Level students who were selected on the basis of their performance in the inter-city matches and intra-region tournaments.

Exciting matches were witnessed in the event with the players exhibiting fine skills and a lot of enthusiasm.

Former national hockey team captain Sohail Abbas graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the prizes among the teams and outstanding players Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan and national coach of Pakistan football team Tariq Lutfi were also present on the occasion and admired youngsters’ performance in the tournament.

The Northern Region lifted the championship trophy where as the Central Region bagged the runners-up trophy.

Results: Central Region beat Southern Region 2-1; Northern Region beat Central Region 1-0; Southern Region hold Northern Region 1-1.—Agencies
