KARACHI: Criminal investigation department (CID) arrested an alleged ‘terrorist’ associated with banned Lashkar-i-Jhangvi (LJ) and recovered large quantity of arms and explosives, DawnNews reported.

Senior Superintendent (SSP) CID Fayyaz Khan told that the alleged ‘terrorist’ named Nawaz Khan alias Shah was arrested from Sohrab Goth area.

Five kilograms of explosive material, three detonators and seven meters of detonating wire have been recovered from Shah, SSP told.

“Shah had come to Karachi with intention of terrorist attack in the city,” SSP said, adding that “Shah was involved in various attacks on the security forces and he is associated with the banned Lashkar-i-Jhangi.”
