RAWALPINDI: Islamabad, the Capital of Pakistan, has started appearing on the world map.
The U.S. weekly magazine Time in its April 6 issue has published a map of Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Burma and Nepal etc. showing Islamabad instead of Rawalpindi as the Capital of Pakistan. This is perhaps the first foreign map where Islamabad has been shown as the Capital of Pakistan.
Call to build up a happy society
DACCA: The East Pakistan Governor, Lt-General Mohammad Azam Khan, yesterday called upon all sections of people to put in united and concerted efforts to eradicate the tuberculosis menace from the country.
In his speech the Governor also made a strong plea for organising a new pattern of society — happy and prosperous and free from hunger and disease — through raising the living standard of the people.
The Governor who was inaugurating the fourth annual T.B. seal sale campaign, at Engineers Institute, emphasised the magnitude of the danger that the disease would cause to the manpower of the country.
Kenyatta a ‘happy man’
