An official in the Indus Motor Company said that Toyota Altis is already Euro-II compliant, but the company will install catalytic converter in Toyota Corolla XLI and GLI 1,300cc range.
He said he cannot give the exact price increase in these two models but said the company is analysing the price hike keeping in view the impact of losing value of the rupee against yen and other currencies.
Car makers have already stated that they would be compelled to raise prices when they would roll out Euro standards vehicles.
They said they would have to invest in some of the engines to the tune of $500-2,500 especially those which do not already have the electronic fuel injection system.
