LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Tuesday approved five schemes at an estimated cost of Rs4,905.81 million (Rs4.9 billion).

The schemes were approved in the 14th meeting of PDWP of current fiscal year 2016-17 presided over by Punjab P&D Board Chairman Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan.

According to a P&D Board spokesman, the approved schemes included establishment of a public private partnership cell in the P&D dept (revised) at a cost of Rs807.8m; enhanced Punjab HIV/AIDS prevention and control programme (phase-IV) at a cost of Rs2,080.92m; and strengthening of infection control regime at public hospitals and provision of infectious waste disposal facilities for private/public hospitals worth Rs904.95m.

Other schemes are establishment of project management unit for Punjab Public Health Agency at a cost of Rs164.32m; GIS integrated computerisation of urban immovable property tax system in 30 districts and third-party audit of assessment of immovable properties to plug leakages at a cost of Rs 947.81m.
