KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang allegedly involved in the kidnapping of women from Punjab province.

A contingent from the Ranger’s Special Task Force and the paramilitary force conducted a raid in Jacobabad after receiving an intelligence tip off, and arrested two individuals involved in kidnapping women belonging to Punjab province, said a Rangers spokesperson.

“The held suspects, identified as Punhal and Rajab, had kidnapped two women from Multan,” stated the spokesperson.

He added the women were brought to Jacobabad and a ransom was demanded from their relatives.

The kidnapped women’s relatives approached the Rangers who conducted the targeted raid and recovered the both women, who were handed over to their families.

The held suspects were later handed over to the police for further legal action, said the Rangers press statement.
