SUKKUR: A Jirga (tribal court) held in Ghulam Nabi Nandwani village near Tangwani town of Kandhkot-Kashmore district on Wednesday ordered a man to pay a fine of Rs800,000 after finding him guilty of having an extramarital affair with a woman.

The Jirga proceedings, presided over by Wadera Dadan Nandwani, which were attended by a large number of Nandwani community members, besides the aggrieved family and that of the suspect, Rehan Nandwani.

After hearing both sides, the Jirga found Rehan Nandwani guilty and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs800,000 to the aggrieved family. His family paid Rs100,000 on the spot and undertook to pay off the remaining amount within the next three months.
