Mrs Green has a lot on her plate, what with running a farm and taking care of three very active children, as her husband is off to defend the country in the war. The kids Norman, Megsie and Vincent try to behave as nicely as they can but being nice to Cyril and Celia is too much to ask for.
Cyril and Celia are the children's extremely spoilt cousins who have been sent to live on the farm, although they detest living there. A war rages out between the two groups of siblings and poor Mrs Green is unable to do anything.
The mysterious Nanny McPhee, then, with her stick and eccentric ways, makes the children realise their mistakes and the kids soon find out that they face a bigger and worse enemy than each other and that is their evil uncle who wants to bamboozle their farm out of innocent Mrs Green's hands and use it for his own vile purposes. Another tragedy comes in the shape of the news of the Mr Green's death.
With no one to look up to, Norman and Cyril team up and with help from Nanny McPhee, they try to save the farm and the family.
Lots of naughty children mean loads of new tricks, antics and trouble, and a movie full of laughter. With a whiff of magic created by Nanny by banging her stick, the movie is a treat for every kid.
