PESHAWAR: Five people were killed and four seriously injured in a clash between two groups in the Orakzai tribal region, DawnNews reported on Saturday.

The clash took place between two militant groups in the tribal region’s Mamozai area.

The groups attacked one another using heavy weapons, sources said.

They said the fighting had not stopped and the groups were attacking each other at intervals.

Orakzai is one of seven districts in Pakistan’s tribal belt, where Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants are said to have carved out strongholds used to plot attacks on Pakistani, Afghan and Western targets.
