LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday arrested former IT consultant of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore, Majid Naeem on charges of embezzling Rs 2.8 million in the Punjab University.

Majid Naeem was suspended from the Punjab University in 2002 on the charges of corruption. He was proved guilty in the inter departmental inquiry of the university.

According to Director NAB Punjab Attiqur Rehman, Majid Naeem was arrested to recover the embezzled money.

He had been working as IT consultant of the BIES, Lahore. He was removed from his post in the BISE due to massive anomalies in results of the intermediate examination 2011 part-I.

It is worth mentioning that Majid Naeem was presented before the Judicial Commission headed by the judge of LHC Justice Chaudhary Shahid Saeed to probe into the matter of mistakes in intermediate examination part-I, 2011 on Saturday.
