ISLAMABAD, Nov 8: Chairman ARD, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on Friday met Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Imran Khan, at the PTI secretariat and discussed the current political situation and ARD’s stance on constitutional issues and Legal Framework Order.
Talking to reporters, after the meeting, Nawabzada said there was similarity of views between the ARD and PTI on the restoration of the 1973 Constitution, presidential election, pre- poll and after poll rigging, horse-trading, floor-crossing amendments, the army’s constitutional role, and repeated postponement of national assembly’s inaugural session.
He said he has sought Imran Khan’s cooperation on all these issues, which has been assured.
Nawabzada said there was no deadlock in the country and alleged that the government was creating confusion among the politicians by delaying the assembly’s session.
Chairman PTI, Imran Khan endorsed the ARD’s stance on several issues saying that he would participate in the APC, if convened.
Answering a question about a coalition government with the PML-Q, he said he is not in favour of any “kings party”.
The restoration of the 1973 Constitution meant that the election of the president must be held under the same constitution, he said while replying to a question regarding the presidential referendum
He refrained to comment on the PTI supporting ARD’s candidate for PM.
ZAFARUL HAQ: Leader of the PML-N, Raja Zafarul Haq and Iqbal Zafar Jhaqra held a detailed meeting with Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan on Friday.
Both men discussed the ARD’s role in the future setup, proposed APC, and the delay in the convening of the national assembly.
They decided that the ARD would continue its struggle for the restoration of the 1973 Constitution and would not compromise on the LFO.—APP
