ATTOCK, Oct 20: The Tehsil Municipal Administration has launched a Rs3 million dustbin installation project in the residential areas of the city.

At the inaugural ceremony here on Wednesday, 150 dustbins were handed over to the residents of Darul Salam Colony.

Speaking on the occasion, DCO Shakeel Ahmed said TMA officials would collect garbage from the dustbins after every two days. He asked the residents to extend help to the sanitary officials in collecting the waste in a proper way.

In the first phase, about 500 dustbins would be installed in the main residential localities, including People’s Colony, Government Officers Colony and Judicial Colony, and later the project would be extended to other areas, he added.

On public complaints, the DCO directed TMO Mubarik Ali to take measures for construction of boundary walls around all open plots in Darul Salam Colony which are creating insecurity for the adjacent houses besides becoming garbage dumping sites. The DCO directed that owners of all such plots should be issued notice to construct boundary walls.

Regarding complaints about power loadshedding from 8pm to 10pm daily, the DCO said he would take up the matter with the Iesco authorities.
