HYDERABAD, Nov 25: The High Commissioner of Nigeria Senator Umar El-Gash Maina has said that vast opportunities of investment exist in his country and called upon local entrepreneurs to launch joint ventures in Nigeria.

Speaking to the businessmen at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry secretariat here on Wednesday, he said that many Nigerian companies had come to Pakistan to purchase pharmaceutical products and negotiate contracts for the purpose.

He said that his visit to the chamber was aimed at sensitizing the businessmen about investment potential of Nigeria and to encourage them to venture into vast market of the African country.

The Nigerian envoy said that his country had immense business opportunities and size of its market could be gauged from the fact that every fifth African was a Nigerian. He said that Nigeria had a wide range of industrial raw material including variety of mineral salts, agricultural products, timber and animal hides.

He said that the country was the fifth largest exporter of crude oil and it had a large skilled and resourceful labour force. He said that the Nigerian government gave generous incentives to newly established industries to encourage their smooth takeoff.
