TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 26: Yet another unmanned level crossing on Sunday became a site of terrible vehicular collision which left three women dead. A train hit a car crossing the track near Chak 316-GB, about 16 kilometres from the city.

Reports said Nasim Bibi and her two relatives, Aliya and Irfana, had hired a cab (MNQ-8616) to see a doctor at Pirmahal. Driver Asghar failed to see the Multan Express coming from Shorkot and tried to cross over the level crossing near Chak 316-GB.

But the fast-approaching train banged into the car as a result of which the three women died on the spot.

The driver suffered grievous injuries and was taken to a Chuttiana rural health centre from where he was referred to the DHQ hospital.

CASE: The Saddar police on Sunday registered a case against its former SHO, Malik Muhammad Yaqub, on the orders of Additional IGP (Faisalabad) Chaudhry Talat Mahmood.

According to the police, the sub-inspector had taken bribe from an accused, Maqsood, and his accomplices who had set ablaze a tractor-trolley of their rival Ashraf to exonerate them.
