GWADAR: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCTVI) at the University of Gwadar and the Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) to provide market-driven, skills-based training to the youth of Gwadar district.

The signing ceremony was held at the BRSP head office in Quetta. The agreement was formally signed by Prof Dr Syed Manzoor Ahmed, Executive Director of PCTVI and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, and Tahir Rashid, Chief Executive Officer of BRSP.

The ceremony was attended by BRSP Programme Lead Syed Qahir Shah, Programme Coordinator Abdullah Badini and other senior officials.

Under the agreement, which is part of the government of Balochistan’s Resilience, Integration and Socio-Economic Empowerment (RISE) Programme, 400 young people from Gwadar district will receive skills-based training in various technical and vocational fields tailored to market requirements. The entire cost of the training programme will be funded by BRSP.

The initiative aims to equip local youth with modern technical skills aligned with industry requirements, enhance their employability and promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment.

The partnership reflects the shared commitment of PCTVI, the University of Gwadar and BRSP to strengthen technical and vocational education, empower local youth and contribute to the socio-economic development of Gwadar through demand-driven skills training.
