LAHORE: The opening day of the Pink Polo Cup saw Rijas/Din, SQ Seagold, and Samba Bank registering victories in their respective matches here at the Lahore Polo Club on Monday.

In the day’s first encounter, Rijas/Din outclassed Zacky Farms 9-5 as Raja Samiullah struck five goals, while Mohib Shahzad added three and Sheikh Muhammad Raffay one. For the losing side, Mumtaz Abbas Niazi struck three goals while Faisal Khan and Shah Shamyl Alam scored one apiece.

SQ Seagold recorded a commanding 13-3½ victory over Guard Group. Ibrahim Khalil smashed five goals while Mohammad Ali Malik contributed three. Nada Gharib and Shaukat Ali Malik added two goals each. Arib Ali Malik managed the only field goal for Guard Group, who had a 2½-goal handicap.

Samba Bank overcame Pebble Breaker 8-6 as Saqib Khan Khakwani scored five goals, while Alman Jalil Azam netted three to seal the result. For Pebble Breaker, Ahmed Ali Tiwana top-scored with three goals, while Abdul Rehman Monnoo and Eleanor added one apiece.
