QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said the provincial government is striving to provide modern sports facilities in every district so that young people are steered away from negative influences.

He said that promoting positive activities among the youth of Balochistan was a top priority of his government. “Sports foster patience, discipline and teamwork. We aim to provide modern sports facilities in every district so that young people are steered away from negative influences,” he added.

He expressed these views at a ceremony held at Polo Ground on Monday as part of Independence Day celebrations.

The event featured a thrilling polo match between the Balochistan Constabulary and the Pakistan Army, along with other exciting equestrian competitions.

Besides a large crowd of citizens, Senator Manzoor Khan Kakar, provincial ministers Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Raheela Hameed Durrani, Parliamentary Secretary Haji Wali Muhammad Noorzai, and MPAs Zarak Khan Mandokhail and Ali Madad Jatak attended the event.

The CM presented awards to the winning and runner-up polo teams, and also recognised top performers in the equestrian events for their outstanding skills. He congratulated the organisers for the excellent arrangements. He said the Balochistan government was taking all possible steps to promote sports, and such events not only highlight the talents of youth but also foster unity and national spirit.
