ISLAMABAD: City managers on Monday discussed expediting development works in the Park Enclave Housing Scheme and its extensions – Park Enclave I and II.

The Park Enclave, which was launched some 14 years ago along Park Road, is almost developed, but development work in Park Enclave I and II is facing delays in completion.

The meeting, which was chaired by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa and attended by board members and senior officers, focused on the development of Park Enclave and other stalled sectors.

A press release issued following the meeting said that senior officers briefed the meeting about the completion of development works in Park Enclave I, II, and III, as well as pending development works.

While briefing the meeting, it was informed that road infrastructure work in Park Enclave I has been completed and possession has also been handed over to allottees.

The chair directed the installation of soft landscaping and environmentally friendly tree plantations in Park Enclave.

He also instructed the environment wing to identify a suitable location in Park Enclave for the construction of a park, besides the development of designated commercial areas.

The press release stated that the meeting was informed that possession had been handed over to more than 75 per cent of plot owners in Park Enclave Phase II.

The chair directed that possession be handed over to the remaining plot owners as soon as possible. He also instructed the estate and finance wings to prioritise resolving all issues related to Built-Up Properties (BuP) in Park Enclave.

Additionally, he ordered the demolition of illegal constructions and encroachments in Park Enclave Phase II to reclaim the land.

The press release also said that the meeting was told that civil work in Park Enclave III has entered its final stages.

The meeting was also told that electrical installations in Park Enclave Phase III will be completed within two months.

Similarly, tenders for the installation of electricity poles and streetlights will soon be floated.

“Chairman CDA directed relevant officers to visit Park Enclave Phases I, II and III to resolve issues on a priority basis. He instructed the finance wing to ensure the immediate release of funds for the completion of development works in Park Enclave,” read the press release.

The CDA chairman emphasised that keeping in view the needs of residents, school plots and other amenity plots in Park Enclave should be introduced in accordance with CDA rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the meeting was told that the base work for road infrastructure in Sector C-14 has been completed.

Similarly, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has issued demand notes for electricity supply in Sector C-14. Payments for horticulture, lighting, curb stones, drainage, sewerage and other development works in Sector C-14 are being completed.

The meeting was informed that infrastructure and culvert work in Sector C-16 is progressing “rapidly.”

Chairman CDA directed the Planning and Estate Wings to immediately resolve all issues related to Built-Up Properties (BuP) in Sector C-16. The development is being carried out in two sub-sectors of C-16, as CDA has yet to get possession of the remaining two sub-sectors.

Meanwhile, the meeting also discussed progress in development works in Sector E-12 — a sector which was launched some 36 years ago, but whose allottees are still waiting for CDA to hand over possession of plots. The meeting directed expediting measures to provide basic facilities, including signage boards in Sector E-12, keeping in view the needs of citizens.

The chairman ordered the removal of all illegal constructions and encroachments in Sector E-12 to reclaim the land and instructed that all obstacles hindering development works in the sector be resolved on a priority basis.

In this sector too, CDA is facing land possession issues in almost two sub-sectors.

The meeting also discussed development works in Sector I-12. The briefing stated that most development works in Sector I-12 have been completed.
