CHARSADDA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl organised a thanksgiving rally here the other day to express gratitude over the passage of the Societies Registration (Amendment) Act, 2024.

The rally was led by JUI-F district chief Maulana Gohar Shah. Party workers and seminary students participated in large numbers.

The participants of the rally reached Farooq-i-Azam Chowk after passing through different roads and markets.

Addressing the rally, Maulana Gohar Shah, tehsil chief Maulana Mohammad Hashim, tehsil council chairman Mufti Abdul Rauf Shakir and others said the approval of Medressah Act was a historic achievement made possible by the efforts of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. They said the passage of the Act was part of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The speakers paid tribute to the JUI-F chief and leaders of Ittehad-i-Tanazem Madaris on the achievement.

They insisted JUI-F had always thwarted external conspiracies against Islam and Pakistan.

The speakers appreciated Fazlur Rehman’s leadership skills and character, saying the Act was a step towards improving the seminary system, regularising them and raising the standard of education there.

WORKSHOP: The Centre of Excellence for Rural Development (CERD) organised a training workshop on child protection and other related issues here.

CERD project manager Khalid Iqbal briefed the participants on the problems of children and the role of stakeholders in resolving them. He briefed the participants on international, national and provincial laws regarding child protection.

Representatives from social welfare department, child protection unit, police, jail, prosecution, labour department, lawyers, Afghan Commissionerate, and others participated in the workshop. The participants said that education, food, clean drinking water and physical safety were important for children.
