RAWALPINDI: Police claimed to have solved the mystery of the murder of a constable seven days after his body was found lying along the roadside in the limits of Kahuta police station, and his wife and her paramour turned out to be the murderers.

A police spokesman said that the deceased police constable, Mohammad Saleh’s body, was found lying along the roadside last Tuesday.

After the body was found, the police registered the case on the complaint of the father of the deceased and launched an investigation. The deceased had gotten married to m a month ago.

The wife of the deceased, with her alleged paramour Adnan, planned the murder, police said.

As the investigation was launched, the Kahuta Police traced and arrested the two accused with the help of technology and human intelligence. Police said Adnan was taken into custody and confessed his crime in the investigation, on the disclosure of which the victim’s wife was also arrested.

No matter how cruel the accused are, they cannot escape from the grip of the law, CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani said.

Aslam Khan, station house officer Kahuta, confirmed that the body of Constable Saleh Babar was found lying along the roadside.

Police said Saleh Babar had been posted at Rawat Police Station, and he had been absent from duty for the last few days.

Initially, the police were of the view that the murder of the constable could be the outcome of an old enmity; however, after the investigation was launched, the constable’s wife and her paramour turned out to be involved in the murder.
