QUETTA: Three Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) officers sustained injuries during exchange of firewith drug traffickers in the Western Bypass area on Tuesday.

Officials said that acting on a tip-off, an ANF squad conducted a raid that resulted in heavy exchange of fire from both sides, injuring three ANF personnel and a truck driver.

The drug traffickers managed to flee the scene, abandoning a bag of narcotics which was subsequently seized by the ANF.

Cop held for murder

Separately, a police constable was arrested in connection with the murder of a Balochistan University student, officials said.

They added that police constable Mohammad Yousaf was believed to have shot Sami Mengal in the presence of his mother in Noshki town some three years ago. He fled the scene. A police team raided a house in Qambrani road area and arrested him.
