DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Tank police claimed to have arrested five outlaws and recovered drugs and arms from their possession on Saturday.

According to police, the officials of Shaheed Mureed Akbar police station arrested Amjad and recovered a stolen mobile phone from his possession. They said that he was wanted by police in different cases of theft.

They said that two outlaws wanted in various cases were arrested in another action. The arrested men were identified as Saeedullah and Habibullah, residents of Umar Adda.

Police said that they also arrested a man involved in drug peddling.

He was identified as Eid Gul, a resident of Umar Adda. They said that 1,200 grams of hashish, a pistol and 10 cartridges were recovered from his possession.

During another action, police recovered two pistols with 66 cartridges and 12-bore rifle from Khushal, a resident of Dabra, and arrested him. Police registered cases against the arrested men.

Police in Dera Ismail Khan claimed to have seized non-custom paid (NCP) items worth over Rs2.6 million during checking of several vehicles on bypass road.

According to police, acting on a tip-off they inspected several vehicles on the road.

During checking, police recovered 20 sacks of dry milk, four cartons of motorcycles’ chain, four tyres, one plastic role, two sacks of cloths, three cartons of spare parts, two cartons of cars’ lights, 28 cartons of candies, two cartons of cigarettes, two sacks of pistachio, two cartons of shoes, five cartons of cloths and other items.

They said that the estimated worth of the recovered goods was around Rs2,656,000.

The seized items were later handed over to Customs authorities for further legal action.
