BAJAUR: Jamaat-i-Islami’s central deputy chief Liaquat Baloch on Sunday asked the party’s social media activists to use the platform for promoting the JI’s manifesto among the people.

Mr Baloch and other leaders made the call while addressing a ‘social media workshop’ for the party’s digital media activists held in Khar.

Hundreds of Jamaat’s social media activists belonging to different areas of the district participated in the workshop organised by JI central social media department.

JI Bajaur chief Sahibzada Haroon Rasheed and former MPA Sirajuddin Khan were also present.

Liaquat Baloch, JI social media head Shamasuddin, deputy head Ahmad Khan, director social media team, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sadqat Mahmood Ghazi, and others said digital media was the best tool to put the party’s message across.

Without naming, Mr Baloch said a political party had effectively used social media to promote its narrative.

However, he admitted the JI’s social media department was not so strong, which was the reason for its weak position in parliamentary politics. He said Jamaat’s central leadership had decided to strengthen the party’s social media department to make people aware of its manifesto before the next elections.

The JI leader said holding of the workshop was part of the party’s plan to enhance the use of social media to strengthen the party’s position at the grassroots level. He said such workshops would be held across the country.

The JI leaders asked the social media activists to avoid criticising other parties through their posts and tweets.
