RAHIM YAR KHAN: The first convocation of the Khwaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) was held here on Friday.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Suleman Tahir presided over the convocation while Mir Chakar Khan Rind University of Engineering and Technology Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mahmood Saleem, Sir Sadiq Women’s College University Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saika Imtiaz Asif, MNA Javed Iqbal Warraich and Commander Cholistan Brigadier Adnan Danish were the guests of honour.

Prof Tahir said when he took charge of the university, it was facing financial and administrative problems. “We worked tirelessly to end the economic crisis. In the last two years, the university has not only developed rapidly but also achieved economic stability.”

The VC said that the number of students in the KFUEIT had increased from 8,000 to 16,000 while the number would reach 25,000 after the completion of development works in June.

Medals were awarded to the position holders of all departments while certificates were awarded to more than 750 students.
