GUJRANWALA: The social security department has launched an aggressive campaign for the recovery of Rs800 million dues from the defaulting industrial units by confiscating and selling the properties of their owners.

According to officials, over 2,100 owners of different industrial units and brick kilns in Gujranwala and Hafizabad districts have been defaulting on the dues payment to the department for the last eight years, resulting in accumulation of total Rs800m outstanding amount.

They say these defaulters have been ignoring the notices served on them during the period for the payment of the dues.

Finally, on the directions of Punjab government, the department has launched an aggressive campaign against these defaulters and formed different teams for recovery of the dues.
