DACCA: The Governor and Martial Law Admi­nistrator, East Pakistan, today [June 10] issued a call to citizens of East Pakistan who have gone away from their homes under the influence of ... malicious propaganda, urging their return to their homes. It is amnesty to all classes of people such as students, labourers, businessmen, industrialists, civil servants, members of the armed forces and other law-enforcing agencies (EBR, EPR, Police, Mujahid and Ansars), political workers and leaders who are all welcome to come back.

The call was made today after investigations which showed that most of the people, who had crossed, or gone underground, were keen to come back to their homes, join their families and resume their normal vocations in life. He said he fully appreciated that they are, without necessity, undergoing the risk of malnutrition and disease. The Government wants them to return and come forward to participate in national reconstruction as equal partners with the rest of our countrymen.
