ISLAMABAD: CIA Islamabad busted a five-member gang that had been involved in incidents of street crime, here on Saturday.

Police said SSP Investigation Ataur Rehman constituted a team under supervision of CIA DSP Hakim Khan to trace and arrest the suspects.

During investigation, the team succeeded in identifying and tracing members of the gang, they said.

The team also recovered mobiles, motorcycles and weapons from the suspects’ possession, they said, adding during preliminary investigation, they confessed to having been involved in eight incidents of street crime near Koral, Shams Colony, Golra and Industrial Area.

The suspects were produced in the court of magistrate from where they were given in CIA custody on physical remand for interrogation.
