TOBA TEK SINGH: A man strangled his daughter and shot dead his nephew over what he alleged their affair at Chuttiana’s Chak 317-GB on Friday.

The FIR lodged by the Chuttiana police said Nazir suspected that his daughter and nephew had an affair and he first attacked his nephew and then shot him and later strangled his daughter.

Police said the suspect later handed over the boy’s body to his parents for burial and arranged graves at the village. In the meantime, someone informed police who raided and arrested the suspect and his son and shifted the bodies to Chuttiana rural health centre for autopsy.

ELECTROCUTED: A youngster was electrocuted at Eidgah area of Kamalia on Friday.

Rescue 1122 said Rana Abdul Qayyum, 14, was cutting fodder on an electric machine for his animals when his hand touched a live wire which proved fatal for him.

In another incident, a woman was burnt alive at Pirmahal’s Chak 319-GB on Friday.

Police said Hashmat Bibi, 60, was alone at her home where she had set a wooden oven on fire. Her charpoy caught fire and she was burnt alive.

FIRE: Unidentified persons set the office of the agriculture department’s assistant director at Chak 388-JB on fire on Friday.

Assistant Director Gulzar Shahid said the building was razed and the entire record of the office was reduced to ashes.

The Saddar police have arrested two suspected employees of same office and are investigating.
