DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police have arrested three persons over involvement in making fake cards of the Pakistan Army, Levies, the police, other departments and cantonment passes.

DSP Dera city Fazal Rahim told a press conference here on Sunday that the cantonment police, taking action on a tip-off, arrested the three persons from Masood Market and Fort Iqbal Garh Road and seized laptops, computers, printers, chargers, PVC cards and other items from them.

The arrested men were named Mohammad Akleem Hasnain of Gali Dr Jalal Dera City, Inayat Ali of Mohallah Roshan Chiragh and Mohammad Sajid of Kot Jai Dera.

DSP Rahim said the accused prepared fake cards of any department and cantonment passes after receiving large sums of money from people.

He said investigation would also be conducted whether or not the arrested men had any contact with a group arrested last week for making fake ID cards of Afghan refugees.

He said separate cases had been registered against the detained persons.

Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot dead an elder from South Waziristan, and then burned his body after spraying kerosene oil on it, police said on Sunday.

A police official said Haji Gulla Khan was shot dead on the Bypass Road within the limits of the University police station.

The police said 11 shells and a motorcycle were recovered from near the burnt body. A motorcycle licence contained the victim’s identity as Haji Gulla Khan, a resident of Toi Khullah tehsil of South Waziristan.
