Former accountability judge Arshad Malik passes away from Covid-19

Former accountability judge Arshad Malik has passed away in Islamabad after contracting the coronavirus, his family said on Friday.
The news of Malik's demise was confirmed by his brother-in-law, Waheed Javed. Speaking to Dawn.com, Javed said Malik's condition was critical for the past two days and he had been placed on the ventilator.
He added that the former judge was under treatment at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.
Malik is survived by two sons and two daughters.
In December 2018, Malik had convicted ex-premier Nawaz Sharif in the Al Azizia reference, sentencing him to seven years in jail. However, he had acquitted Sharif in the Flagship reference.
But in July 2020, after a year-long inquiry, the Lahore High Court’s (LHC) administration committee had removed Malik from service on charges of misconduct relating to a video scandal that broke in 2019, and which sent ripples through political and legal circles.

The scandal was brought to the limelight by Sharif's daughter, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, who had at the time come forward with video clips purportedly showing Malik confessing that he had been “pressured and blackmailed” to convict Nawaz Sharif in the Al Azizia corruption reference.

RIP, but there must be investigate that it's natural or not, as after him PMLN lose the chance of review over the decision took by him and fellow judges by blackmailing, cause those who try to blackmail him to pass verdict against Nawaz can also do additional services.

It is obvious that he was on payroll of NS. He tried his best to serve Sharifs but Sharifs wanted more. It is just like, another tainted judge Qayum from whom Sharifs wanted more ... much stringent punishment for Bhutto/Zardari and he begged them that he could not, as it would make things too obvious.
His death is revenge of Nature, same happened to Waqar (CJ of KPK).
Most corrupt Judges, Journalists & Bureaucrats would suffer, in this world or after death

A probe into his death must be carried out to determine whether it was natural or otherwise, as he was quite controversial in the penalty granted to to Nawaz Sharif. He was also the main character that proved that Nawaz Sharif was innocent.

I think Coronavirus is a serious menace to the judges community these days. Justice Faiz Essa and justice Siddiqui be advised to follow the SOPs by wearing face masks, using sanitizer and keeping social distance from the infectious disease. They are also advised to confine themselves to their duty points and abstain from wandering in public.
