RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday ordered transfer and posting of two senior police and administrative service officers.

According to a notification, Mohammad Wisal Fakhar Sultan, a BS-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), currently awaiting posting in the Establishment Division was transferred to Punjab. He is expected to be posted as a divisional police officer in the province.

Mr Sultan earlier served as the city police officer (CPO) and the regional police officer (RPO) of Rawalpindi.

As part of a major reshuffle by the caretaker government, 13 police officers had been transferred ahead of elections. Mr Sultan, the then RPO Rawalpindi, was among the officers.

Azmat Mahmood Khan, a BS-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), currently working with the Punjab government was transferred and directed to report to the Establishment Division. Mr Khan had earlier served as the commissioner Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, SSP Operations Islamabad Najeebur Rehman Bugvi relinquished the charge and SSP Counter-Terrorism Force Syed Mohammad Amin Bukhari was given the additional charge on Monday.

Mr Bugvi was posted in the capital in January this year. He is likely to be given an important assignment in Punjab to work with a team under the supervision of former IGP Nasir Khan Durrani for police reforms. Mr Bugvi was also a part of Mr Durrani’s team which worked on police reforms in KP.

Mr Bugvi’s transfer order was issued on Aug 31 but on the request of senior officers of the capital police he was directed to continue working in Islamabad and supervise the Defence Day and Ashura security arrangements.

Mr Bukhari also worked with the Punjab police on a number of important posts in Lahore.
