KARACHI: Lions, ostriches and llamas were among the attractions at the Karachi pet show hosted by the Defence Authority Creek Club and Rude Planet Kennel Saturday night.

An organiser told DawnNews they had received over 250 entries for the show, saying the variety of animals present at this year's exhibition surpassed those present in previous years.

"We want people to come and enjoy themselves in the atmosphere that Karachi provides. When the weather takes a turn for the better, people want to leave their houses and they want to enjoy the weather," he said.

Footage of the event showed a proud lioness sitting calmly in her cage, cat owners carrying their fluffy bundles of joy, slithering snakes, exotic birds and tame falcons perched on their owners' fingers, as well as dogs lolling about, their tails a-wag with excitement.

A unique sight, a stuffed stag and ibex were also exhibited amongst the live animals.
