Handbag and accessories designer Mahin Hussein had a proud moment when Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan's recently appointed permanent representative to the United Nations, wore one of her sequined clutches to the UN. The ambassador was presenting her credentials to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
Maleeha Lodhi tweeted the moment, proving she's quite the supporter of Pakistani fashion:

To which Lodhi replied that even Ban Ki-moon had remarked on the eye-catching clutch.

Mahin's sequined clutch is quite the hit with celebrities too.

@wiserneighbour , or maybe I have a better idea, should have had a fabric specially woven with her initials or maybe the pattern of the flag in it and should have worn it and then afterwards auctioned it for charity, I think that sounds familiar to you. Sadly our ambassador does not believe in self glorification, it was just a style statement, so relax.

Maleeha Lodhi is a wonderful and gracious diplomat, who's Pakistani Embassy galas in Washington, DC were very popular when she was ambassador. A true patriot in every sense ... admiring her green and gold Pakistani flag clutch - quite a unique fashion statement!

I hope that that Dr Lodhi focuses more on the assignment that she is sent for at the cost of hard earned tax payers money. We, the ordinary Pakistanis, would have been happier if she would have attired in a simple manner and carried a traditional clutch handcrafted by our traditional womenfolk.
Remember the most expensive designer wears attired by one of our former lady foreign minister. That approach did not do any good to our foreign policy, except giving shocks to her counter parts whose three months salary could not scale up to the price tags of those outfits!
