GUJRAT, March 30: Former federal minister Chaudhry Wajahat Husain of the PML-Q has filed nomination papers for NA 104 (Jallalpur Jattan-Karianwala) and ex- Gujrat tehsil nazim Saadat Nawaz Ajnala has applied for PP 108 (Karianwala).

Khalid Asghar Ghural and Chaudhry Abdullah Yousaf, both two-time MPAs of the PML-Q from PP 108 and PP 109, may not get the party ticket this time and chances of Mr Ajnala and Chaudhry Shafaat to get the PML-Q ticket are bright.

In case of Shafaat’s contesting for NA 104 in place of his brother Wajahat Husain, Abdullah Yousaf may again be nominated by the PML-Q.

Ajnala had been elected Gujrat tehsil nazim and is a close kin of the Nawabzada family of the PML-N.Ex-federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira and his elder brother, Tahir Zaman Kaira, PPP district president, have filed their nomination papers for NA 106 (Lalamusa-Dinga). PPP general-secretary Tanveer Ashraf Kaira has filed papers for PP 112 (Lalamusa).

JI nominees are Hafiz Zubari Ahmed (NA 104), Irfan Ahmed Safi (NA-106), Syed Ziaullah Shah (NA 107), Dr Tariq Salim (PP-111) and Dr Syed Ehsanullah Shah (PP 112).

Chaudhry Saleem Sarwar Jaura of the PTI has also filed his nomination papers for NA 105 and PP 111, Gujrat city.

In Mandi Bahauddin, ex-minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal and his brother Zulfiqar Gondal have filed their papers for NA-109 (Malakwal-Gojra-Qadirabad).
