Blast in Sargodha

SARGODHA, Sept 23 A powerful explosion heard in the city on Thursday evening created panic among the people, resulting in traffic jams and market closure at some places.

As soon as the blast was heard around 7.30pm, many people tuned to television channels in a bid to know its origin, while many others were witnessed contacting their near and dear ones on phone to ensure their safety.

According to Regional Police Officer Javaid Islam, the blast could be a result of fuel tank drop or breaking of the sound barrier by an aircraft.

However, neither the cause of the blast nor its location could be ascertained.
