QUETTA, April 8 (APP) Speaker Balochistan Assembly Mohmmad Aslam Bhutani announced on Wednesday morning that Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani of the Pakistan Peoples Party was elected chief minister unopposed.

The announcement was made by the speaker soon after the start of house proceedings. The elections were conducted on Tuesday by presiding officer Mohammad Khan Mengal, Secretary of the Balochistan Assembly.

Raisani will be sworn in as chief minister by the new speaker on Wednesday evening and will seek a vote of confidence in special session of the assembly on Thursday.
